Revive is not your typical board game. It's a 1-4 player strategy game that challenges you to think creatively and act decisively.
With asymmetric player powers, highly variable setup, and no fighting or direct conflict, you'll have to use your wits and cunning to outmaneuver your opponents and emerge victorious.
At the heart of the game are the citizen cards, tribe board, and dual-layer player board. Each player gets a set of citizen cards, a tribe board that shows their unique tribe ability and ancient technologies to be relearned, and a dual-layer player board where they place custom machines and upgrade their card slots.
The main goal of the game is to reach and populate the ancient sites, which are randomized and offer a source of victory points. You have to make strategic decisions on which actions to take, such as playing a card, exploring, populating, or building factories with powerful machines.
One of the most exciting aspects of Revive is the multi-use cards that offer both resource and special abilities. You can chain these cards together and activate slot modules to trigger multiple abilities in one action. This allows you to customize your strategy and adapt to changing circumstances.
The game is played through a 5-part campaign that unlocks additional content, and once all contents have been unlocked, the game can be replayed indefinitely.
Reaching certain milestones also lets you take an artifact from the main board, which boosts one of the three scoring categories on your personal scoring card.
