What is Qwixx?

Qwixx is a roll-and-write dice game by Steffen Benndorf, published in Dutch by White Goblin Games. The game is suitable for 2 to 5 players, ages 8 and up, with a playing time of 15 minutes. Qwixx It was nominated for the Spiel des Jahres in 2013, won Toy of the Year in the 9-11 year category that same year, and was awarded the Dutch Games Prize in 2014. It is one of the best-selling dice games from White Goblin Games.

In Qwixx You roll six dice each turn and cross off numbers on a personal score sheet with four colored rows. The more crosses you collect per color, the more points that color yields at the end.

How does a game proceed?

The score sheet has four rows: red and yellow increase from 2 to 12, green and blue decrease from 12 to 2. Each number may be crossed off only once per row, and once skipped, numbers cannot be crossed back. That limitation is the core of the strategic tension: whoever stops a row too early or jumps too far ahead closes off options for later.
