What is the X-Men Starter Set

This set was put together specifically for fans of Xavier's gifted youngsters. Instead of a generic mix, you get four of the most famous X-Men. The miniatures are beautifully detailed and perfectly capture the action from the comics, from Wolverine at the ready with his claws to Storm controlling the elements. Please note: this is an expansion set. To play the full game (including dice, rulers and terrain), you still need the basic rules from a Core Set. The models in this box still need to be assemble and painted by you.

How does the game basically work?

Within Marvel Crisis Protocol, these characters form a powerful team with great synergy. Cyclops often serves as the tactical leader, using his 'Leadership' ability to help other X-Men work together better or use their powers more efficiently. Beast is surprisingly mobile and strong, while Storm can control the field with her powerful attacks. Included in the box are all the character cards and specific Team Tactic Cards that give the X-Men their unique playstyle: agile, resilient, and always ready for a team-up.

Is it difficult to learn and play?

The X-Men have a playstyle that rewards good positioning and teamwork. Once you’ve mastered the basics of MCP, these characters are a joy to play with. Building the miniatures is easily manageable for the average hobbyist; Wolverine and Beast in particular make for particularly rewarding models to paint, thanks to their recognizable colors. The cards are clear and clearly indicate each mutant’s superpower.

How long is a game and who is it suitable for?

A session usually lasts between 90 and 120 minutes. The game is suitable for 2 players aged 14 and up. This Starter Set is an absolute must for anyone who has fallen in love with the X-Men series and wants to recreate the legendary battles from the comics on a tactical level.
