The quiet suburb of Maple Lane is no longer safe. Dr. Fright, the notorious dream doctor, returns to the neighborhood to make the people responsible for his unexpected death pay with their blood. Through which channels you reach those people, classic and out of the box. Only Move the Final Girl through Maple Lane: a suburban neighborhood with neighborhood houses. Each turn, you activate action cards for movement, searching, fighting, or other actions. Dr. Fright acts automatically via the terror card system and can kill the Final Girl, both in the real world and in the dream world.

The central new mechanism of Final Girl Frightmare on Maple Lane is the awake/asleep status of the Final Girl. The awake/asleep card tracks the state the Final Girl is in. While asleep, she is vulnerable to Dr. Fright, who derives his powers from the dream world. But only in the dream world can she truly confront and touch him via the Boiler Room cards. This forces the player to make a conscious choice: when do you enter the dream world and when do you stay awake?
